Hailing from North Georgia, David Funk, becoming a member of the Bethel Music Collective in 2020, grew up watching his father play piano on worship teams at their local church. He started playing guitar at a young age and began leading worship in high school.
Upon completing his third year of BSSM—an internship under Kalley Heiligenthal, David found himself singing in front of thousands on Bethel Music’s Victory Tour and Roadshow Tour. He has since been leading worship across the country and locally at Bethel Church.
David first led “Touch of Heaven / Alabaster Heart (Live)” on a Sunday night at Bethel Church and experienced an anointed, holy moment. David remembers God showing up and doing something significant in the room. As Funk’s first single with Bethel Music, “Touch of Heaven / Alabaster Heart (Live)” introduces him in his truest element—ushering in high praise and keeping the focus on Jesus. This song invites the listener to surrender again and again— leaving everything at the feet of Jesus. He also appears on Bethel Music’s latest album Homecoming (2021) singing, “Son Of Suffering”.
David thrives in an environment where everyone is passionately worshiping. His dream is to lead people into the presence of God, where every person present is solely focused on Him.
