Dad Witnesses 10 Year-Old Son’s Vision Healed During Worship

Read this powerful testimony from a father who experienced his son’s vision healed during worship at Bethel Church:

I have been watching Bethel TV for some time now and had the opportunity to come down from Oregon with my parents a couple of weeks ago to visit Bethel Church. This time I brought my wife and two boys, ages 10 and 7, and my nephews also came with my parents. During our time at Bethel, we had many random God encounters with words of knowledge given to us—enough that I could do a write-up just of that.

But the real testimony is what happened Sunday night during worship. Both of my sons had brought along their tablets to help keep them occupied during the service. During worship, about half way through I think, my 10 year-old son, who has to wear glasses, was sitting on the floor by my feet and tugged on my leg to get permission to download a Bible app for his tablet. I whispered, “Of course” and went back to worshiping. Maybe no more than five minutes later, he tugs on my pant leg again and tells me, “Dad, I think I can see with out my glasses.” I was like, “What?” and he told me, as best as I can remember, that while he was sitting on the floor, God led him to look up a verse in Ephesians 3.

For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. -Eph. 3:14-19

And he prayed and asked God to heal his eyes. He said he then felt a little pain in his eyes, and his glasses went kind of blurry. He stood up next to me and started reading the words projected on the screen next to the stage, the small words on the bottom corner that identifies the song, who wrote it, etc. He could not have normally have done that without his glasses and even then might not have totally seen it.

Needless to say, my son’s vision was restored during worship while simply sitting on the floor asking God to help his eyes: a simple example of having the faith of a child. God is great, and I do think this miracle wasn’t simply for him but taught us all something.

We look forward to seeing what God has laid out for us and hopefully coming back to visit again as soon as we get the chance.

  1. This is awesome! As I am sitting here, reading and sipping on my mocha frappe, while listening to Holy by Jesus Culture, this makes a great experience to know God is at work everywhere…even as I sit here. I am so excited to know of Him!

  3. So good! God is amazing! Today my dad prayed for someone both mute and deaf from birth, and now they can start to hear!

  4. We went to Kingdom culture couple weeks ago with my son Daniel. We come from Mississippi and enjoy all three days of worship and studing. My son knows the power of Jesus healing through Holy Spirit, when he had his hands covered with warts. We pray for his left hand and it was cleared up, but we still see those warts on his right hand. So we pray for his right hand and it was cleared up in some time. God showed my son that it was done by His power, because hands was not cleared on same time, but from each prayer individually in the name of Jesus Christ. And it is wonderfull and amazing!!!

  5. Yes and AMEN!!! So sad that most of mainstream Christianity in America rejects all of this. This is the true reality show that people should be seeing on TV.

  7. God is Amazing!!! Several years ago, my wife had experienced almost same thing. During worship time, she saw things that is flashing with light like a gold while she was singing… but at that time, she didn’t know what was happened to her. Next day, while she was driving to the church, suddenly she found she was not wearing her contact lends… but she can see anything without them!!! God is so great!!!

  8. I have been praying and expecting healing for my left eye. The Doctor says its dead and wants to remove it because of the eztreme pain that it’s causing. I’m resisting because as long as I still have it God can heal it.

  10. We live in times where science only can calculate possibilities. Where Humans have come so far, to explain everything with our human understanding. Everything beyond it is something that won’t be excepted.

    And I know it. I know as a raised Christian what the bible says about believing. I read and hear a lot of sermons about that. I can list you all the verses the bible is talking about it. I got prayers answered in life. I can feel the presence of God. And yet reading this testimonies there is doubt in me. Always a little bit.
    This is sad. That the world we live in tries to keep us from believing in God and plants doubt in our hearts.

    • I’m sorry, David, I have not read the book. I just was exposed to it at some point. I was not planing on investing time in that right now. I thought that you were interested in evidence to counter your view, so I provided a source you could look into. I was not intending to “prove” my claim from one source. I don’t know why you feel the need to insult an author and scholar… particularly if you’ve never read his work. Perhaps he has insights and has done some good honest research. I do remember the book had almost as many pages of documentation and citations than text. Now I do believe the Christian community needs to face arguments like yours that there are challenges to the Bible’s historicity. It is important that our faith not be blind, but have evidence behind it. I believe in the resurrection of Jesus not just because I have seen miracles and lives changed in Jesus’ name, but also because the New Testament account is historically reliable. (I would not be surprised if you disagreed… and I welcome your evidence to the contrary.) My limited knowledge and experience has been that repeatedly historical claims of the Bible were discarded as myth by numerous scholars for years (like the fall of Jericho, the existence of the Hittites or of King David) UNTIL archaeology proved otherwise. You sound so confident that the Bible’s account is mythological, that “all” the evidence is on your side… then what could it hurt to check out the book? I also highly doubt that Hoffmeier is the only voice in the realm of serious scholars who claim the historicity of the Exodus. I have had numerous OT professors through years of seminary, including a renown archaeologist, who saw no problem believing the Exodus account was historical. I’m glad you’re challenging me and others, though, I’m not sure at this time I want to invest my time in this issue. If you want to continue the dialogue I am open to looking into it more, though. I believe truth is revealed to us not just as we seek and question, but as we remain humble… acknowledging we don’t have everything figured out.

    • Yes, the lies are always fighting the truths and the darkness against the light. But we know who overcomes. There is nothing wrong, shameful or abnormal about having doubts. I pray that you would be like the father in Mark 9 and simply ask Jesus to ‘help you in your unbelief’ or that Jesus would reveal more of himself to you like he did to Thomas who doubted. He has the grace to meet you where you are at. Fortunately God is the God of the impossible and He doesn’t have to obey the natural laws that scientists are bound by. God Bless you.

    • Actually the power isn’t from bethel at all. It’s amazing that God moved there but it is the power of faith in the God of the universe. What a mighty gracious God we serve!

  11. Wow. We are flying in from PA this weekend with our eight year old son, Sam, who was born with a serious vision impairment. Nice timing for such an encouraging and close to home testimony. Yay God!

  13. Having a severe visual,impairment since birth and believing for my own miracle this testimony is a real blessing. Thank you.

    Whilst I wait for my miracle I am learning to trust God that this visual impairment is for a season it has shaped and been part of my journey my spiritual development my wrestling with learning who God is despite adverse circumstances.

    For all of you reading who are like me waiting for your miracle have strength and courage keep pressing in keep praying keep getting others to pray. I love the way Anna pressed in for a child and gave her Samuel. I really feel God saying to me “when I give you your gift of new eyes what are you going to do with them?”

  15. Why are skeptical comments simply removed, even if they are to the point and phrased in a respectful tone?

  16. Just like you theists. When the going gets tough and people point out your illogical notions, you simply delete their comments.

    Then you wonder why people think you stick your fingers in your ears and scream “LA LA LA” when you hear something you don’t like
