Behind The Scenes

The Making of Beautiful Surrender

For Jonathan and Melissa Helser, the inspiration for the album cover and art design for their album, “Beautiful Surrender” came during a long drive that Melissa was taking one day. She was praying and asking the Lord for a picture of what “Beautiful Surrender” should represent and she immediately saw Jonathan and Melissa falling back into water. For the Helsers, this imagery spoke deeply to them about their heart for their album. “Beautiful Surrender” was written to paint a joyful picture of what surrendering to the Father looks like. It isn’t a dark and scary place, but an intimate and refreshing posture, a joyful dance. Watch below as Jonathan and Melissa Helser share more about the meaning behind the “Beautiful Surrender” album design and view some behind the scenes shots of the process of capturing content for the album on the Helser’s farm in North Carolina.
