My story is a long one, and for the sake of this introduction I’ll spare you most of the details. I’m Stephen. I’m 22 years-old and I’ve been a Christian all of my life. I work for Bethel Music as their Visual Worship Leader and Creative Designer. I’m a New Zealand native, but 5 short weeks ago, I left all of my friends and family and moved to Redding, California to join the Bethel Music team.
This photo essay is the first of what will be a regular “visual worship” blog. My heart and passion in life is to see the global church absolutely revolutionized and liberated to see that worship is more than music.
Whether you are a visual creative or not, I hope that this photo essay will bless and inspire you in your pursuit of authentic “Spirit and Truth” worship of Jesus. From photographers, designers, artists and musicians, to lawyers, doctors, mechanics and everything in between, may you be released in Jesus’ name to offer your entire life as worship to God.
These photographs were taken over the last few months, capturing elements of my move from New Zealand to the USA. I’ve curated this gallery to really reflect what I feel are elements of the character of God as it relates to His faithfulness. My prayer is that you will find some time to steal away from the bustle of life, and immerse yourself in these photographs. Let the Holy Spirit fill you once again with His love for you. I pray you would find yourself in a place of surrender, to the Faithful One.
Lamentations 3:22-23 “The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is Thy faithfulness.”
For anyone interested in my process, the photos in this photo essay were all taken on my iPhone 5S and processed / edited using VSCO Cam for iPhone.
