In preparing for this second photo essay. I was drawn to a passage of scripture in Psalm 34:7-8 which says, “The Angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him and He delivers them. O taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in Him.”
My first exposure to Bethel Music was through Brian and Jenn Johnson’s song “O Taste and See.” A simple song of joyous declaration that indeed the Lord is good and greatly to be praised. I often find myself going back to this beautiful song because there’s something wonderful about singing of His goodness.
These photos, although quite dramatic and moody at times, are taken from my recent season of now living in California — adjusting to a new life, finding my feet, knowing where I belong. What I’ve found within myself is an urgency to proclaim God’s goodness in every season. I find myself singing and dancing even when I thought I didn’t want to praise Him.
How good is our God? He sets our feet to dancing and turns our mourning into dancing again and again. I’ve included the lyrics from this song throughout this essay, and I pray this is a blessing to you.
For anyone interested in my process, the photos in this photo essay were all taken on my iPhone 5S and processed / edited using VSCO Cam for iPhone.
